Flanked by the ‘Bergsche Maas’ river and the Donge, Raamsdonksveer is located on the edge of the Land of Heusden and Altena region. Altena Yachting is situated on the Keizersveer in Raamsdonksveer, named after emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, who took the ferry here to visit the newly annexed Dutch provinces in 1811. On this historic site, Altena Yachting builds luxury motoryachts, ranging from inland yachts to coastal cruisers and seaworthy yachts.
Blue Water Trawler 60’
One of the yard’s latest models is the Altena Blue Water Trawler 60’. This twin-propeller steel waterdisplacement trawler was specifically designed for long sea trips, is easily able to handle significant volumes of water (so-called ‘blue water’) on deck and is exceptionally stable in waves. The round-bilged hull with a deep forefoot and flush stern, together with the deep continuous cutwater, ensure optimal course stability and calm sailing. Insofar as it is necessary for construction and safety, the yachts are built in accordance with the European Guidelines for Recreational Craft (CE-marking) for design category ‘A’ – Ocean. The Bureau Veritas Rules for the Classification and the Certification of Yachts are used as the basis for the body construction, rudder and pipelines, and wherever else necessary.
The owner’s cabin with ensuite bathroom and lobby is situated aft and includes access to the engine room. Below the wheelhouse on the port side is a double cabin, and an office is located starboard. Fore is the galley across from a dinette, a head, a wetroom and another double cabin. The deckhouse, below the flybridge, accommodates the wheelhouse and deck saloon.
Vryburg PB 61’
The Vryburg PB 61’ is a robust, seaworthy roundbilged yacht, designed for all weather conditions. It features an attractive, timeless design by Pieter Beeldsnijder and naval architect Vripack. Based on its combination of stunning lines and robust character, the Vryburg is admired wherever she goes. One of the main design criteria was ensuring the yacht was able to make transatlantic crossings and its underwater segment is extremely efficient to minimise fuel consumption.
Another major design criteria was to realise an exceptionally comfortable yacht with a high degree of luxury. To underline this, the main deck, gangways, saloon with galley and bridge are all on the same level. The wide gangways and high positioning of the bollards and railing enhance the sense of comfort and safety. The Vryburg can be operated by a crew of only two and can easily be described as a mini superyacht.
