Loyal Yachts has developed a new solution to suit both older, experienced motorboat fans as well as young families who like to go sailing. Spaciousness and comfort inside and out, durability and affordability were the key characteristics in the development of the aluminium Loyal 980, launched in 2013.
Large open spaces
The Loyal 980 features relatively few levels. The master cabin is generous and the number of berths can easily be expanded. Outside, the multifunctional aft deck springs to the eye, with ample storage space for two e-bikes, for example, and a tender. The aft deck’s easy accessibility to and from the mooring makes loading and unloading luggage a breeze.
Aluminium: low maintenance and affordable
A further benefi t of using lightweight construction materials is that the vessel requires less maintenance than conventionally built craft. Painting or treating surfaces either above or below the waterline is rarely if ever necessary. And less maintenance means lower maintenance costs – two birds with one stone. An adventurous spot for the kids to sleep under an adjustable roof is also possible.
Diesel or hybrid
The lighter the weight, the less fuel is consumed. Aluminium construction also means more effi cient engine use and reduced maintenance. The Loyal 980 touring version comes with a 26.2 hp Mitsubishi diesel engine and a choice of whether or not to combine this with a hybrid drive, using a 6KW electric motor. The 980 touring is built under CE-category C (inland waterways and coastal navigation). On the seagoing version the back is closed with a fi xed seat and side doors and another railing is fi tted on the front. The 980 seagoing comes with an 80 hp engine and is built to CE-category B.
