The renowned Nicolaas Witsen Nautical Centre is specialised in the maintenance and repairs of motor and sailyachts. The yard has over 32,000 square metres of facilities and can store over 700 yachts in winter. It is able to lift, slip and transport yachts with a displacement of up to 300 tonnes with a portal crane for dry docking yachts up to 50 tonnes and a slipway for yachts up to 300 tonnes. No time to transport your yacht to the yard yourself? Nicolaas Witsen will provide a transport service free of charge, with qualified captains who can sail any yacht to the winter storage facilities, and return them to their berths in the spring.
Storage
All storage sheds are secured with electronic locks, and the code is exclusively provided to the owners of the yachts to limit the risk of unwanted visitors. The sheds are divided into working sheds, where owners can sand, varnish or paint their yachts, and halls that are heated and kept dust-free.

Performing refits on yachts is a growing trend. An increasing number of watersports enthusiasts opt for the charm and price benefits of an existing, older yacht over a new build. The refit team at Nicolaas Witsen can provide a thorough renovation of interior, exterior and technical facilities to ensure your yacht meets the very latest requirements, while respecting the craftsmanship of the original builders.
Carpentry

Engine maintenance
The mechanics at Nicolaas Witsen have a wealth of experience in engine technology; from standard maintenance, repairs and upgrades to making your engine winter-ready.
Painting and spraying
A pristine layer of paint on a yacht is a highly attractive feature, as well as being essential to the lifespan of your yacht.
Polyester work
Polyester yachts also need maintenance, which is why the yard is also involved in repairing, polishing and cleaning such vessels. They can also be treated for osmosis at the Gelshield Centre.
Stainless steel construction and fittings
Activities such as installing or repairing tanks, railings and propeller shaft constructions are in good hands at Nicolaas Witsen. Aluminium and stainless steel components are either in stock, or developed by the custom-made department.
Engineering technology
A modern yacht is a sum of the many technologies on board. Nowadays, almost no yacht sets off without an energy supply, and electric and hydraulic systems. These expensive and complex systems require professional expertise as offered by the yard.
Brokerage
The yard also includes yacht broker Barnautica Yachting, specialised in the sale of sail and motoryachts.
