The Splash, Randmeer, G2 and Pointer 25 are household names in the boating industry – but did you know that all these models come from the same Dutch yard? Jachtwerf Heeg is the modern builder behind these renowned brands and has been delivering sailing yachts of excellent quality from the heart of the Frisian lake country for decades.
Pointer 25
The latest model is the Pointer 25, which comes from the drawing boards of Van de Stadt Design. This sailing cabin yacht – characterised by a shallow draught suitable for both coastal waters and lakes – was introduced in 2014 after two years of development. At 25 feet, the boat is not overly large and is therefore easy to handle.
The interior is bright, spacious, elegant and, above all, practical. The styling can be defined by the owner. A key starting point for this design is that the ladies look equally forward to coming aboard.
The Pointer 25 is no racing yacht, but an elegant, comfortable and sturdy vessel with a spacious cockpit, lovely deck fittings and all the facilities necessary for a luxurious holiday on the water.
The basic version comes at an attractive price and is ready to sail, featuring an inboard diesel engine, electrical systems and sails. For singlehanded sailors, the furling jib can be replaced by a tacking jib.
Randmeer
While the Pointer 25 illustrates the yard’s prowess in the sailing cabin yacht segment, Jachtwerf Heeg initially became famous for its production of open sailing boats. Designed by the renowned
naval architect E.G. van de Stadt, the Randmeer has been the open sailing boat of choice for sporty boaters for more than 50 years. The high comfort levels, beautiful lines, spacious cockpit,
speed and manoeuvrability all ensure its enduring and unrivalled popularity.
The yard started its first restyling of this model in 1992, expanding the range with the family boat Randmeer Touring and the racing boat
Randmeer Advance. In 2008, the Randmeer was again given a more contemporary look, with even more comfort and a modern design comprising up-to-date colours.
Splash
The Splash appeals to sailors from 13 to 21 years of age as this modern racing and recreational sailboat is tailored to the energy of young people. Fast and easy to handle, the Splash has proved its mettle over more than 25 years. It too has been modernised with a new line: in cooperation with designer Koos de Ridder, the Splash is now available with three different sails on the same boat: green, blue and red.
G2
Another top model is the G2, a sleek keelboat with classic curves, a modern underwater section and an exceptional sailing performance. Important features include optimal comfort and top-class performance. It has been a recognised one-design class for races since 2006. With a perfect trim and weight distribution and a draught of just one metre, the boat can be used in a very large sailing area. In addition, the G2 is equipped with various innovative gadgets, including a revolutionary keel and a patented system for fast and neat stowage of the outboard in the aft space of the cockpit.
