Shipyard B. de Groot has been building Pikmeerkruisers in Grou on Pikmeer Lake in the Dutch province of Friesland since the early 1960s. As was the case back then, the yachts are still built entirely under one roof. The demands of customers are the yard’s focus, keeping the lines of communication short. Yachts from 12 to 14.5 metres in length and in three different models – the Open Cockpit, Aftcabin and Flybridge – are currently built in the modern production facilities.
Pikmeerkruiser 44 OC Premier
The Pikmeerkruiser 44 OC Premier is the striking successor to the Pikmeerkruiser 12.50 OK. The model has undergone not only several design changes – such as the modified windows in the saloon and the beautifully rounded stern – but also various technical modifications to make it suitable for trips across the open sea in up to wind force 8 and four-metre waves (CE category B). This makes the Pikmeerkruiser 44 OC highly suitable for sailors devoted to the open sea as well as inland waterways.
The new Pikmeerkruiser Premier range provides a more convenient access option. A door in the stern and two integrated stairs on the aft deck make it very easy to get in and out of the cockpit, irrespective of whether the yacht is moored at a high or low jetty. Climbing or stooping becomes a thing of the past. The cockpit cover on the yacht also provides easy access to the cockpit. The design can be realised in different ways, depending on the owner’s preference.
Pikmeerkruiser 48 OC Premier
The flagship of the Open Cockpit range is the new Pikmeerkruiser 48 OC Premier. A number of striking design modifications, such as the charming saloon roof, the rounded stern and the modifi ed windows in the saloon, make this a worthy successor to the Pikmeerkruiser 13.50 OC. This modernised Pikmeerkruiser has been modifi ed in technical terms as well to make it suitable for smooth sailing on the open sea in up to wind force 8 and four-metre waves (CE category B). This allows for exploration of European coastal and inland waterways, as well as sailing to the UK or Sweden. The yacht can be fi tted with hydraulic stabilisers. The clearance height of 2.65 metres and a draught of 1.15 metres make it particularly suitable for longer journeys on the European coastal and inland waterways.
The 48 OC Premier features two or three fi xed cabins accommodating at least six guests, a spacious interior with ample storage space, a cosy dinette and a spacious aft deck providing enough space to sit and relax. This solid yacht with lovely lines really has it all.
The model is available in two 14.20-metre models, one with an oblique, round stern and one with a door in the stern and two integrated stairs in the aft deck. The nicely rounded saloon roof with a spacious overhang above the cockpit and front windows give the yacht a solid and stylish appearance. The interior can be designed according to the owner’s preferences, and the exterior has an exceptionally beautiful fi nish with nice curves and a well thought-out deck layout.
The 44 AC (Aft Cabin) is the latest Pikmeerkruiser model which completes the Premier line. The 40 OC (Open Cockpit) is currently under development.
